Why?

I have no idea… why I’m starting this blog, and I really don’t know if it will even last beyond this first post. Maybe I’m writing this just because I “stumbld” upon tumblr and it looked like the most interesting blog tool I’ve seen so far, and as a geek I just had to try it out. Maybe it’s because my writing skills suck and I felt the need to practice. It could also be a good venue to get more involved in the Rails community. Whatever….

I really don’t have much to say, but I guess everyone has to have a first post with no point or value to it whatsoever.

So, here’s a very minimal summary of where I’m at right now:

I’m currently working on a RoR (Ruby on Rails) project and most of my posts will probably be about my experiences and frustrations while developing this project.

I’m doing some remote college coursework for the University of Wisconsin which surprisingly I was admitted to just because I have a Java Developer Certification.

I’ve lived in Mexico for most of my life and just moved back to Austin about a couple of months ago. I’m part of a bilingual multicultural family and because of that there are a lot of weird things that happen in our family some of which I may or may not decide to share.

I’ll probably blog about some of the reasons why I like RoR later. For now I’ll just continue to code.
